🌍✨ Thrilled to share some highlights from our recent meeting at the University of the Western Cape, where we’re working together in an exciting collaboration between our research team at VUB, SAY IT Labs, and the University of the Western Cape! Our project centers on a cutting-edge language therapy game designed for children who stutter. Stuttering can deeply impact self-esteem, and our goal is to support young people in overcoming stigma and building confidence through innovative therapeutic approaches. 🗣️💡 Additionally, I had the privilege of giving a lecture on"Idiom comprehension, from healthy aging to Alzheimer's disease". Engaging with the bright students and dedicated staff members was truly inspiring, and their perspectives brought invaluable insights to the discussion. A heartfelt thank you to our collaborators: Prof. Dr. Stefanie Keulen (VUB), Dr. Silke Coemans (VUB); Dr. Lukas Latacz (SAY IT Labs), Mr. Erich Reiter (SAY IT Labs); and Prof Mantoa Motinyane (Smouse)(UWC), Dr. Khanyiso Mwanda-Jonas(UWC), and Ms. Patience Onowode(UWC). We're thrilled to be joining forces with Professor Stefanie Keulen from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Professor Mantoa Motinyane from the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town. Together. Stutter Stars will be in full view as we seek to help children in the region who stutter with limited access to traditional speech therapy. We're passionate about empowering young voices and creating pathways to greater inclusion and opportunity. Happy Aging Day! Lukas Latacz and I spent the day embracing a conference dedicated to aging. Social isolation poses a huge risk for so many people, seniors in particular. Say It Labs was proud to meet members of the Parkinson's community, including Vlaamse Parkinson Liga and explain how social isolation can be re-thought using clever #ai solutions. SMART Glasses - for Parkinson's. Did you know that over 90% of people with Parkinson's disease have diminished speech? This is one of Say It Labs latest projects. Visualizing speech to help people with Parkinson's Disease speak louder or slower. An enormous thanks to CrossCare 2.0 for supporting this amazing project. Last week testing with 10 people with Parkinson's at FRAME by Jessa Ziekenhuis. Today, we're just exploring walking around with a few frame ideas. Who looks better? Erich Reiter or Lukas Latacz?
