🌟Announcing the 10 laureate artists of the S+T+ARTS ec(h)o residency programme🌟 We are thrilled to unveil the 10 exceptional artists selected for the S+T+ARTS ec(h)o residency program. They will embark on a 13-month journey at the crossroads of art, science, and technology, addressing some of actual societing challenges with innovative and interdisciplinary approaches. The program is structured around 10 groundbreaking challenges, ranging from artificial intelligence and data visualization to bio and life sciences, underscoring the central theme of fostering ecological consciousness and human-compatible digital technologies. The laureate artists and their host institutions include: Theda Nilsson (TU Dresden): exploring adaptation to synthetic worlds through innovative theater. Johanna Bruckner (Ars Electronica): rethinking AI through themes of contamination and inclusion. Carolyn Kirschner (TU Dresden): merging biomolecular science with art to envision interspecies futures. Kyriaki Goni (ESPI): harnessing satellite imagery and storytelling for climate resilience. Bernat Cuní (HLRS, Media Solution Center): crafting hyperlocal VR/AR avatars based on cultural heritage. Oliver Kruse (HLRS, Media Solution Center): translating nature’s aerodynamics into a flying sculpture. On November 29th, MUSAE project held a Concept Assessment meeting at PAL Robotics in Barcelona. During the meeting, the teams of artists and SMEs presented 11 concepts and received feedback from other participants and MUSAE consortium partners. All the concepts showcased were highly innovative and future-oriented, focusing on various aspects of the Food as Medicine domain. Launch of the S+T+ARTS Ec(h)o Residency Program: Official Opening at TU Dresden Today marks the beginning of the Kick-Off Meeting introducing the S+T+ARTS Ec(h)o residency program, hosted at the Technological University of Dresden (TU Dresden). This official event inaugurates a unique program at the intersection of art, science, and technology, bringing together the 10 selected artists, hosting institutions, researchers from TU Dresden, and various members of the S+T+ARTS community. Over the course of three days, the event will feature project presentations by both artists and scientists, collective intelligence sessions, networking opportunities, and conferences addressing major contemporary issues. The program highlights the core values of S+T+ARTS: fostering creativity and innovation as drivers of solutions to today’s pressing challenges. Throughout their residencies, the selected artists will develop ambitious projects focused on the central theme: "Fostering ecological consciousness and human-compatible digital technologies." 🌍 Working closely with experts, they will explore and co-create innovative solutions to address ecological, economic, digital, and societal challenges. The S+T+ARTS Ec(h)o residency program, a european initiative, represents an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, leveraging the synergy between art, science, and technology to imagine more sustainable and inclusive futures.
