About us
SBHPP stands for Sumitomo Bakelite High Performance Plastics and is one of the market leaders in Phenolic Chemistry and Thermoset materials. Sumitomo Bakelite Europe NV located in Genk is part of this international group and is most known for the production of Phenolic Resins. Within Europe there are three sites: Genk, Gent and Barcelona. Our site in Genk produces resins for different purposes such as the tire industry, aviation, petrochemistry and construction.

On June 20th, our very first teambuilding event took place. 88 participants were divided into 8 very diverse teams and were presented a number of challenging tasks. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious barbecue at the beautiful location Park Ven @ Diepenbeek. We also celebrated several special work anniversaries. The organization, provided by Funkey - De teambuilding partner -, was top-notch! Last but definitely not least, there was an impressive performance by mentalist Piet Kusters. In short, a very successful afternoon and evening where team spirit and fun were central! Worth repeating… 👌
