Gisteren reikten koning Filip en koningin Mathilde adellijke gunsten en eretekens uit in het Koninklijk Paleis. Deze titels worden verleend aan Belgen die een grote bijdrage leveren aan onze maatschappij of uitblinken in hun talent. 🏅 Dit kunnen uiteenlopende profielen zijn, zoals chef-koks, muzikanten of wetenschappers. VUB-onderzoeker Damya Laoui ontving ook een uitnodiging van het Belgisch Koningshuis en kreeg een eretitel voor haar baanbrekende onderzoek. 🔍 🗣️ Ze reageerde erg dankbaar op deze erkenning: "Gisteren ontving ik de eretitel 'Commandeur in de Kroonorde' als erkenning voor het wetenschappelijk werk dat ik samen met mijn team verricht in de strijd tegen kanker. Deze onderscheiding is ook een waardering voor mijn inzet om wetenschap toegankelijk te maken voor een breder publiek en om jongere vrouwen te inspireren voor een carrière in STEM.
