🌍 Last week marked our 12th annual Futureproofed Talk, bringing together city leaders and climate practitioners to turn climate goals into concrete action. Held at Sweco Belgium’s Brussels HQ, this event goes beyond the usual conference. Here, we combine Futureproofed’s SaaS platform and hands-on guidance with the deep, project-level expertise of Sweco’s engineers — offering cities a full toolkit to assess, plan, and implement their climate roadmap. Key takeaways from the day: 1) Actions drive beliefs: Real, visible progress within communities inspires more people to get involved, creating a ripple effect. Success in one neighborhood inspires action in others. 2) Funding is ready: Today's diverse financing landscape — from impact investments to place-based funding — offers multiple paths to fund climate projects. The key is knowing how to access it. 3) Community engagement drives success: The most effective solutions emerge when neighborhoods participate in their design. This collaboration creates both immediate buy-in and lasting resilience. This event was a rare chance for attendees to collaborate closely with both our SaaS and on-the-ground experts, learning how to harness data, prioritize actions, and transform plans into meaningful projects. Thank you to our speakers, moderators, and especially the city leaders who work tirelessly to create futureproof communities. We're energized to continue this journey together. 👉 For a full recap, check out our blog: https://lnkd.in/ejKQ6MdB Fedra Vanhuyse, PhD, Piet Colruyt, and Filip Coenen—thank you for fueling our panel discussion with insights on financing climate initiatives for local governments, and a special thanks to Piet for his inspiring keynote on finance as a force for good.
