We’re looking for a Head of Finance to join our team in Limburg and take charge of our financial operations. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee financial planning, drive strategic decision-making, and ensure the financial health of our organization.


Mission

In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in steering accounting and controlling activities, ensuring robust financial planning, and providing strategic insights to support our business operations and projects. Your role will encompass a wide range of financial responsibilities, from consolidations to project funding, making you a key player in the financial health and strategic direction of our organization.


Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial consolidations and ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions with proper invoicing.
  • Develop and implement effective systems for financial-economic planning and control.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and planning for all units, providing analyses and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collect, analyze, and present financial data through periodic and ad hoc reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external financial guidelines and principles.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including payables, receivables, inventories, fixed assets, and payroll.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial insights to support management decisions.
  • Collaborate with management to optimize financial reporting systems.
  • Lead and align accounting and controlling processes across the organization.


Project and Bid Support:

  • Assist Program Managers in contractual negotiations and client need analysis.
  • Act as a financial partner to Bid Managers, supporting the bidding process from RFQ to contract finalization.
  • Prepare financial components of offers, including business case consolidations and risk analyses.
  • Propose terms, conditions, and assumptions to optimize project agreements.
  • Define, manage, and coordinate assigned projects to ensure timely and successful delivery.


Process Improvement and Risk Analysis:

  • Analyze financial and operational results, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks by implementing effective strategies.
  • Conduct lean assessments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.


Who are you?

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.


Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial controlling or similar roles, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Proven background in accounting, controlling, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in industrial or project-based environments (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or engineering) is a plus.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial and accounting systems (SAP knowledge is a must).
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus).
  • Team leader with the ability to prioritize and drive results in a fast-paced environment.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Strong expertise in project financial follow-up and reporting.
  • Familiarity with funding channels for R&D in Belgium and Europe.
  • Interest in aerospace products and development projects, enabling optimal support for engineering teams.
  • Ability to translate research goals into fundable projects with detailed follow-up on funding statuses.
