Job Description

We are looking for a Research Associate to join our research team and contribute to high-impact projects in the food industry. As a Research Associate, you will play a crucial role in designing and executing experiments while supporting the development of innovative solutions. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams and collaborate on projects that drive the transition to a more sustainable food system. In this dynamic startup environment, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of cutting-edge research and see the results of your work come to life. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on various tasks and be adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on microbiological work with a wide range of microorganisms.
  • Optimize and design workflows to evaluate food safety and determine the shelf-life of food products.
  • Manage multiple industry projects simultaneously, collaborating with partners to address their specific needs.
  • Record, analyze, and communicate experimental findings through detailed reports for internal and client use.
  • Work closely with the team to develop and implement advanced R&D projects that push the boundaries of food safety and sustainability.
  • Handle general lab management tasks, including ordering supplies and managing stock.

Profile

Essential

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on lab experience in microbiology, with a background in managing and executing multiple projects.
  • Education: A scientific degree in food microbiology or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical lab skills, preferably in food microbiology
    • The ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
    • Proven organizational skills for managing project data and reporting.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
    • Adaptability: Must enjoy working on a variety of tasks and be flexible in taking on new challenges.
    • The candidate must be fluent in English, both written and oral, as it is the primary language used for communication within our team and with our international partners.
Desirable But Not Required

  • Experience with working with a wide variety of microorganisms is an added value.
