  • 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 🚛⚡️🚆 Imagine a world where trucks primarily handle short distances, and charging infrastructure is widely available in terminals. The combination of renewable energy infrastructure and intermodal transport would bring a revolution in logistics 👉 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: As a truck driver, you arrive at an intermodal terminal where your e-truck can charge while you take a mandated rest break. The train carrying your unit checks in, and as it’s being unloaded, your rest period ends. With a fully charged truck and renewed energy, you're set to hit the road and deliver to your destination. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: ✅ Maximised Efficiency: Reduced idle time for drivers and equipment. ✅ Sustainability at Scale: Encourages the adoption of electric trucks by addressing range limitation concerns. ✅ Driver Comfort: Ensures compliance with rest regulations while leveraging renewable energy. The future is closer than one may think! While the DHL Innovation Centre sees the innovation reaching its full potential in 5 to 10 years, some operators like Contargo are already deploying electric trucks and charging infrastructure: https://lnkd.in/e8dusfva This is just but one innovation that shows how #intermodaltransport can address environmental concerns while being a strategic advantage for the logistics ecosystem. How do you see renewable energy shaping the future of logistics? Let’s discuss! 💡 #LogisticsInnovation #RenewableEnergy #IntermodalTransport #SustainabilityInAction
