The team of Junior Achievement Bulgaria, including Milena Stoycheva, Vera Petkanchin, and Svetoslav Manoilov, visited Karlovo for an emotional meeting organized by educators Spaska Bistrashka and Yanka Mineva, who have been supporting JA programs since 2000. The event marked 25 years of entrepreneurial education, featuring successful alumni of the "Student Company" program who shared memories and lessons learned. Many of the alumni have formed a Municipal Youth Advisory Council, supporting youth initiatives and local businesses. Mrs. Bistrashka was recognized as an inspiring leader transforming the community through educational programs, with the support of the Municipality of Karlovo. We extend our immense gratitude to Mrs. Spaska Bistrashka – a true inspiration, enlightener, and ally, for applying our organization's educational programs and transforming her community over the past 25 years by shaping young people with new mindsets and behavior. We also thank the Municipality of Karlovo for its fruitful collaboration over the years and its support for our local initiatives.

When you find out you have won the prestigious National Energy Globe Award for Bulgaria! 🏆 JA Bulgaria has been honored with the National Energy Globe Award Bulgaria for our impactful project, #EcoAccelerator, which addresses one of the most pressing environmental challenges—plastic waste pollution. This award recognizes innovation and commitment to sustainability on a global scale and we are thrilled to have our efforts celebrated on such a global stage! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐜𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫? Eco Accelerator is a youth-focused program designed to inspire and empower young people (aged 16–22) to combat plastic pollution through green entrepreneurial solutions. ⏳ Over the past two years: 🌱500+ youth participants gained critical insights into plastic pollution, the circular economy, and sustainable business practices. 🌱Participants underwent an interactive online course, followed by a 5-day eco innovation camp mentored by industry professionals, culminating in the prototype funding of the top three teams' green innovations. 🌱The program embodies the philosophy of "learning by doing," equipping students with tools like the Business Canvas Model to turn their ideas into impactful solutions. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬? Bulgaria faces significant environmental challenges, including over 240 million single-use plastic cups discarded annually and a lack of deposit systems for recycling. Bridging the gap between education and the job market can be challenging… ... no more, thanks to initiatives such as Junior Achievement Bulgaria's "Manager for a Day", helping young people feel prepared and equipping them with in-demand skills and the tools to make an informed choice about their future careers. This year's edition of "Manager for a Day" held on October 24 was attended by more than 1,200 young people over 16 years who had the opportunity to learn about the real working environment in companies and organizations across the country. One of them was #ACS junior Yana Dimitrova. Yana was selected among hundreds of candidates to take on the leadership role in people management policies at A1 Bulgaria EAD under the mentorship of Miglena Ouzounova-Tsekova, Senior Director of Human Resources at the telecommunications company. In the course of her #internship, Yana became familiar with #HR projects related to talent selection and employee development initiatives. Yana learned that the HR department plays a critical role in creating an environment that supports both the personal development and professional growth of the people in A1's team of nearly 4,000. In the words of Ms. Ouzounova-Tsekova, "It is essential for us to provide opportunities for young people to learn about the corporate environment and the responsibilities of #leadership. Through initiatives such as #Manager for a Day, we give them the chance to be part of our daily life, albeit briefly. We believe that in this way they will be able to learn more about the profession and also about what qualities and knowledge are needed for a successful career. We hope that my colleagues and I will inspire them for their future development." Indeed, Yana came back truly inspired. It was a pleasure to partner with Junior Achievement Bulgaria during their 2-day Innovation camp held at Vivacom Art Hall by providing the catering. The saved food throughout the two days from Foodobox has contributed to reducing CO2 equivalent emissions by 350 kg, which is the equivalent to the emissions produced by a typical car driving over 1 600 km! ♻️ We are proud to support initiatives that not only inspire young minds but also promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.
