About us
Since the discovery of the Seria field in 1929, Brunei Darussalam has forged an enduring partnership with Royal Dutch Shell, a relationship that reaches back more than nine decades. From its humble beginnings, Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) is now the largest oil and gas company in the Sultanate, boasting a diverse and highly qualified workforce of around 4,000 employees and more than 20,000 contractors. To this day, BSP remains as the backbone of Brunei’s economy and a major contributor to the nation’s oil & gas revenue and export earnings, supporting the growth and development of the country. BSP’s core activities include exploring for, and producing, oil & gas from onshore and offshore fields for domestic use and export to international markets. These operations are supported by skilled professionals working in functions ranging from technically minded Petrophysicists and Petroleum Engineers through to more corporate staff in Legal, Contracting and Procurement to Aviation and Marine Specialists.

Embodying our commitment to safety as our #1 priority, BSP hosted a safety roadshow for Orang Kitani and our business partner colleagues last week. The roadshow focused on critical safety topics such as Slip, Trip and Fall campaign, DROPS prevention and Spills to the Environment. We were privilege to have the Biro Kawalan Narkotik (BKN) team to join us to raise awareness on drugs-related issues. Under the theme "Finishing Strong Together", this roadshow provides a valuable platform for in-depth conversations on safety practices and the sharing of innovative initiatives between BSP, our business partners and our guest from BKN. By having this platform, we are reinforcing our commitment to ensure that You and I Will Go Home Safely.

We also welcomed Yang Mulia Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy), Yang Mulia Awang Shamir Salahudin, Managing Director of the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, and Mr. Johan Atema, BSP’s Managing Director, along with our respected retired Hydrocarbon Processing Managers and the community leaders in Belait district.
