Agroecology Map is an citizen science, open source and open data digital platform that since 2017 has been maintained by a group of volunteers who work to strengthen and create new collaboration networks that improve sharing knowledge about Agroecology. Recently I helped to organize, and participated in a farmer research network #frnconvening in Kisumu (Kenya) focused on knowledge co-creation for #agroecology, supported by McKnight Foundation's Global Collaboration for Resilient Food Systems program, with co-hosts PELUM Kenya Association, Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), and University of Eldoret. It was an amazing opportunity to have conversations with a diverse array of actors: smallholder farmers from Africa and the Andes, researchers, NGOs, policymakers, and funders from nearly twenty countries across five continents, and in three languages! Being able to exchange ideas, share perspectives and learn from each other was so valuable! I trust that the connections made there will continue to nourish our collective efforts towards agroecological transitions and food systems transformations at the local, regional, national and global levels. On the first day we had a "knowledge exchange fair" where many different organizations shared research, approaches, seeds, products, stories, innovations and much more. It was a really exciting and dynamic way to get to know each other! Here is a glimpse of the Slow Food Kenya booth. My main takeaway is about the value of bringing together people who are situated at very different places within the landscape of food systems change and knowledge creation processes. While some have policy expertise, others are long-time agroecologists, some have decades of research experience, others are lifelong farmers, some are activists and others are funders... we all have something to contribute and something to learn!

Our local partner in Ecuador, EkoRural, uses a people-centered approach to strengthen local capacity for continuous innovation, centering on healthy local food systems and agroecology. They work with Indigenous and mestizo communities to embrace regenerative methods that restore soil health and biodiversity rather than continuing reliance on chemicals and external inputs. The method of applied farm design integrates farming systems that work in harmony with nature. A natural farm in Chaupal, Shimla district. Natural farming follows the principles of agroecology, where farmers works with nature rather than harming it. Farms rely on natural inputs, making it a climate-resilient technology that helps counter the effects of climate change, said Kuldeep Singh Thakur, a scientist from the Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni, Solan.
