One of the highlights for me was the focus on cybersecurity, a critical area that continues to evolve rapidly. The speakers provided invaluable insights into the current landscape, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures and innovative solutions to protect our digital assets. It was enlightening to hear about the latest strategies and technologies being developed to combat cyber threats. At our organization, we are already leveraging some of Acronis's solutions to back up our servers and enhance our cybersecurity posture. The event reinforced our commitment to staying ahead of potential threats and ensuring the safety and integrity of our data. ✅ Day 5: Final Day of Our China Immersion in Shanghai ✔ Pay Easy Today marked the final day of our China immersion, and we continued our journey in the vibrant city of Shanghai. We started the day with an enlightening talk from Rodrigo Zeidan, an economics of global Business Professor at NYU Shanghai. His insights into the Chinese economy and international economic trends were thought-provoking and highly informative. Following the lecture, we had the unique experience of visiting a small, exclusive store called "We Pick," which operates on a social credit system. Entry is granted only to those with a good social credit score. Once inside, you simply pick the items you want, and the cost is automatically deducted from your Alipay wallet. This innovative shopping experience is currently available only to Chinese citizens or individuals with a local bank account. After we visited We Pick, we had the opportunity to explore SUNMI, a company that is revolutionizing the payment industry with a wide range of products. From advanced POS systems to face payment devices for Alipay and an automatic fruit scale that scans the fruit and prints the price for you, eliminating the need to search for it manually. Sunmi's innovative devices and technologies are truly impressive and showcase the future of retail and payment solutions. To wrap up our immersion, we had a comprehensive overview of all the companies and places we visited throughout the week. This reflection allowed us to consolidate our learnings and appreciate the breadth of experiences we had. I was honoured to receive a certificate for my participation, which serves as a testament to the knowledge and insights gained during this trip. This five-day immersion has been an amazing experience, providing content equivalent to at least six months of exploring the Chinese culture, mentality, and technology, all condensed into just five days. I am already looking forward to returning next year to continue exploring and learning. 🚀 Day 4 in Shanghai: A Dive into Fintech and Innovation! 🚀 Pay Easy Today was another remarkable day in Shanghai, packed with cutting-edge experiences and insightful visits. We started the day by experiencing Tencent's palm payment technology, a fascinating glimpse into the future of seamless and secure transactions. Our next stop was Banco do Brasil in Shanghai, where we explored their operations and strategies in the Chinese market. It was enlightening to see how they are navigating and thriving in this dynamic environment. Followed by Airwallex, a global fintech company revolutionizing cross-border payments. Their innovative solutions are truly transforming the financial landscape. Then Wicresoft an insurance company using AI to help solve general problems and HK Web3 Education and Financial Services. Finally, we wrapped up the day with a visit to Ant Group's Alipay and Alipay+. It was incredible to get a glimpse of all the groundbreaking initiatives that Diego Garcia Fernandez 高狄 is spearheading. I am optimistic that Pay Easy will soon be collaborating with them to facilitate seamless and efficient payment solutions for both Brazilian and Chinese tourism markets. In the afternoon, we had the privilege of visiting Zhipu AI in Beijing. The insights gained from their innovative projects in artificial intelligence and machine learning were truly inspiring and highlighted the forefront of technological advancements. After an enriching day, we embarked on a high-speed train journey to Shanghai, experiencing firsthand the efficiency and modernity of China's transportation infrastructure.
