Alipay+ is now live on NEPALPAY QR, enabling travelers to make seamless cross-border payment at more than 875,000 merchants across Nepal. Ant International and Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) jointly announced this milestone at the Singapore FinTech Festival. Mr. Vishrut Thapa, Chairman, NCHL said: "This achievement is surely in line with the strategic plan of the Nepal Rastra Bank to enable our retail payment system for global payment linkages. It is also a testament to our close cooperation, commitment and collaboration between NCHL and Ant International to create seamless cross-border payment connectivity." Alipay+ transactions has tripled this year, reflecting the growing role of digital technology in shaping travel experiences. AlipayHK is serving over 4.2 million active users in Hong Kong, and supporting the digitalized operations of over 90% of local merchants. One of the merchants is a beloved snack shop at Causeway Bay – Chung Kee Congee. As a long-term partner of AlipayHK, they started accepting Alipay to welcome visitors from Chinese mainland years ago. Now, AlipayHK is helping them to take payments from more inbound travelers through Alipay+. Through Alipay+, local Hong Kong merchants like Chung Kee are able to take 14 e-wallets from 9 countries and regions directly. This has led to an increase in customers from countries such as Singpapore, as well as other Southeast Asian countries, driving more business for this mom-and-pop shop.
