On November 11 and 12, 2024, the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG), the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) and the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) organized T20 Brasil Summit, which took place at Itamaraty Palace in Rio de Janeiro (former headquarters of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Scholars and researches from various think tanks, and global civil society representatives resumed the discussions on policy briefs and recommendations of the six Task Forces of T20 Brasil (Fighting Inequalities, Poverty, and Hunger; Sustainable Climate Action and Inclusive Just Energy Transitions; Reforming the International Financial Architecture; Trade and Investment for Sustainable and Inclusive growth; Inclusive Digital Transformation, and Strengthening Multilateralism and Global Governance). In July 2024, the Task Forces delivered to the G20 leaders the Communiqué, a document containing implementation recommendations of the public policies of their respective areas. If the first semester of T20 Brasil was dedicated to the elaboration of policy briefs, in the second semester the implementation of recommendations has become a clear priority. Members of the T20 community were invited not only to elaborate implementation strategies and roadmaps, but also side events having implementation as a key issue. The last act of T20 Brasil Summit was official handover ceremony from T20 Brasil to South Africa. Next year, the Organizing Committee will be comprised of the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), the Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation/University of Johannesburg (IPATC/UJ) and the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA).
