A network of professionals advancing learning by integrating place and education to evolve learning environments.
About us
The British Columbia Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE BC Chapter) is a dynamic, non-profit organization dedicated to the evolution of learning environments. We are one of seven chapters within the Pacific Northwest Region (PNWR) of A4LE, part of an international association committed to fostering excellence in the planning, design, construction, furnishing, and operation of learning spaces. With 151 members, A4LE BC Chapter brings together a diverse group of professionals, including architects, designers, planners, builders, and educators, who all share a passion for shaping spaces that inspire learning and growth. We believe that the physical environment plays a critical role in the learning experience, and we work at the intersection of learning and place to advance innovative and effective spaces for students of all ages. As an approved educational provider for the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC), we support the professional development of our members by offering accredited learning opportunities. Through workshops, events, and collaborations, we equip our members with the knowledge and skills to lead in creating progressive, inclusive, and sustainable educational spaces. We are part of A4LE’s broader mission to empower and connect professionals across the globe, from our Pacific Northwest Region to our international colleagues, in pursuit of learning environments that truly reflect the needs and aspirations of students and educators today and in the future.
