  • How do you get an equity stake in an influencer? Maybe you can't. Or maybe you can via an affiliate network.

What do influencers and affiliate networks have in common? Hear me out real quick I feel like I’ve connected the dots myself and I want to share these thoughts for validation. - There are less M&A opportunities - People buy from people - But you cannot buy people - An affiliate network will connect the dots That is an affiliate network is the gateway for influencers to get a piece of the affiliate pie. An affiliate network is like having an equity stake in an affiliate (or influencer) without the complex equity contracts and complex negotiations. Do you think affiliate networks will help the affiliate segment diversity from SEO?

"so which affiliate is your favourite?" I was asked this by a good friend hunting for a commercial role with an affiliate company in iGaming. One of the answers I gave them was Game Lounge. Why? Well another way to answer that is the answer to my first question to CEO Richard Dennys which is this: Are you a naturally born leader or is this something you worked hard at? His answer was more on the work in progress but I think for him it is a hybrid. I think leadership in iGaming is more important than ever today. Great leadership attracts and keeps the right people. So yeah, I would definitely recommend Game Lounge.

Today I'm celebrating people that work in product which I think deserves more credit for the success in affiliate marketing today. I'm always looking for any patterns of success in other companies or people and product seems to keep popping up. At StatsDrone we adopted a product-led growth (PLG) strategy and it has been everything for us.

Is Google giving special attention to forums? I took a look at 9 iGaming affiliate forums and noticed a 367% increase in traffic in about a year based on Ahrefs data. I'm always trying to see the patterns of why some sites have benefitted from the Google updates while others have suffered. I've been saying a while that I think a good product is important for affiliate sites and I think a forum itself is a product. In the top 100 results for 'casino forum' in the United States in Google has a few Reddit results, Quora, LinkedIn and 2 operators running their own branded player forums. Reddit itself has done a 10x in traffic over the past 2 years.

🤔 I got to ask Lily Ray the question that is on every affiliate's mind. How do I recover and grow my affiliate site with Google core updates wreaking havoc? I have been following Lily's posts here and on X for the past year ever since the Google Helpful Content Update (HCU) went live and tanked a ton of affiliate sites. Her analysis has given me a pulse of the SEO space in relation to affiliation. I follow Lily as well as Glen Allsopp from Detailed.com closely on the topic of SEO trends in relation to affiliate marketing and I highly recommend you follow Lily and Glen as my go to thought leaders. She shares amazing insights on how brand building and search go hand in hand. Of course she is a strong supporter of Women in Tech SEO which I hear is a very supportive community. How deep can you analyze affiliate marketing data? Meet Cristian Florin Ionescu who's the cofounder of Witanalytica. I got to ask him how much bigger does he think affiliate marketing will be when more people and companies adopt analytics and Business Intelligence into their work. He also gave an answer that relates to a project I'm working on which is segmentation analysis or cohort analysis. Based on my chat with Cristian, I think there are never ending data studies and insights all of us can gain from when we dig deeper into the data. One more thing he said which is now making me connect the dots, is he thinks more companies should collaborate to standardize data, make more APIs and data connections between products and sharing of knowledge. I know he's not the only one in affiliate marketing that thinks like this. I'll share a link to one of his interesting case studies in the comments!

What's inside the SEO Notebook? 📝 🎶 🎸 Consistency is key according to Steve Toth on his success as an SEO consultant. He did also say it in this Affiliate BI podcast but Steve isn't just consistency but consistent quality. This requires serious intent. Steve will sometimes spend days working on his weekly SEO note on his very popular seonotebook.com. I threw a lot of SEO questions at Steve and he left me with a ton of clips and insights I can use individually. If you're not following his SEO newsletter, you really should follow it.
