Honouring excellence and inspiring achievement throughout British Columbia.

About us

“BC Achievement exists to shine a light on those whose actions make this province a better place for us all.” Anne Giardini, Chair, OC, OBC, QC, Board Chair BC Achievement elevates the best in the province through awards and recognitions which help deliver its mandate of honouring excellence and inspiring achievement. BC Achievement recognizes, celebrates and stewards outstanding British Columbians while elevating their stories of excellence; it inspires others to help build stronger and more engagement communities. Five distinct programs nurture innovation across BC and celebrate the leaders and contributors who are making a difference. • The Community Award program is the cornerstone of BC Achievement since 2004 and has honoured over 600 exemplary British Columbians for commitment to their communities. • The Fulmer Award First Nations Art acknowledges artistic excellence in traditional and contemporary visual art by First Nations artists who honour their cultural and artistic traditions. • Since 2004, the Carter Wosk Award Applied Art + Design has celebrated BC artists whose work has enhanced the cultural and economic fabric of the province. Where functional art and design meets applications, the award honours talent, innovation and entrepreneurship in equal measure. • Since 2009, the Indigenous Business Award program has recognized over 200 Indigenous businesses for outstanding excellence and innovation. • The newest program at BC Achievement is a partnership with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. The British Columbia Reconciliation Award showcases the work of individuals, groups and organizations committed to furthering the Principles of Reconciliation. "It is important to highlight and celebrate the achievements of those that make our communities stronger. Humility and celebration are not mutually exclusive, nor necessarily conflicting. We have much to celebrate within our communities." John Montalbano, Board Member
