After some of the hardest work, many tears, and overcoming countless challenges, I'm thrilled to announce that today is the day! You have seen the gratitude posts and now here we are! Let me be real with you: this process was tough. REALLY tough. It took every ounce of courage I had to push through the ups and downs, the struggles, and the moments when I wanted to give up. But I knew deep down that this story needed to be told. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude once again to everyone who was a part of this journey! Call to Action: 1)     To those individuals on their own journey know you are not alone! 2)     To the leaders that hold the reins of our organizations reflect on your impact and be courageous enough to change! 3)     To our worlds decision makers consider that the why and how of your decisions may very well be more important than the decision itself. Stay tuned as in the following months I will share more about how this journey unfolded. Behind the scenes, it's not all polished and perfect…it's raw, authentic, and oh-so-important. It's about the real struggles and triumphs that shape us. I know we are all tired, with full desks, overfull calendars, and very tight purse strings however I believe that when we come together, we can accomplish amazing things! Let's share our stories, embrace our differences, and inspire each other to keep striving for healthier workplaces and more successful businesses. • Change can feel uncertain—especially when it comes to policies that shape inclusion and equity. With the University of Alberta replacing its DEI policy, it’s understandable that some may feel anxious about what this shift means. But here’s the thing—diversity already exists! What we need is a focus on equitable access, cultures of empathy, and supportive communities. The new approach—centered on access, community, and belonging—has the potential to create deeper, more sustainable cultural change. It shifts the lens from numbers and representation to real impact—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive. This is an opportunity to move beyond inclusion as a checkbox and toward belonging as a shared experience. Let’s lean into the possibilities this framework offers and continue building spaces where people feel seen, supported, and valued. • As a business goal setting and defining priorities are regular activities. Here are a few we'd like to share ringing in the new year. Top three priorities for 2025: 1) People - Being mindful of our customers', our employees' and our colleagues' & friends' well-being 2) Connection - One of the reasons we work so hard in the space of organizational culture and inclusion is our belief in the positive impact of authentic connection. Everything becomes possible! 3) Growth - We are not talking about growth of dollar and cents. Instead we are setting our focus on growing our impact, our connections, and our collaborations. Needless to say we enter 2025 with excitement, energy and full hearts! Yes! 2025 we are ready for you!

"Whispers on the Wind: The Call for Inclusion" We are thrilled to introduce “Whispers on the Wind: The Call for Inclusion”, a campaign that captures the subtle yet powerful force of inclusion. Just as small winds come together to create powerful gusts capable of transformation, small changes can grow into lasting, meaningful change. This initiative is dedicated to creating vibrant, inclusive workplaces and organizations, proving that every action, no matter how small, can contribute to a greater movement. This 2025 campaign proudly supports the Indigenous Regeneration Society. It’s more than just a conversation—it’s a commitment. Also watch for more opportunities throughout 2025 to get involved! This is your chance to join a movement that uplifts communities and celebrates all voices. Together, we can create a future where every individual’s strength and value contribute to a meaningful world. Let’s answer the call of the wind and be part of this transformative journey to the future of work. Last week, class action lawsuits were filed against BHP and Rio Tinto in Australia, bringing to light widespread sexual harassment and gender-based violence in mining environments. These legal actions highlight a devastating reality: many manufacturing, resource extraction, and heavy industry workplaces remain unsafe for women and marginalized groups. These cases are not isolated incidents and are not only occurring within these organizations. They reflect systemic failures to address harmful workplace behaviors, often prioritizing production and returns over people. Organizations frequently reward outputs and efficiency in performance reviews without aligning them with the values of respect, safety, and inclusion. When this happens, toxic cultures are not just tolerated—they are promoted. Aligning performance measures with behaviors that reflect integrity and inclusion is critical. Do not reward the people that accomplish the goal without evaluating HOW they reached that goal! The question organizations must ask themselves: Are we truly rewarding the behaviors that create a thriving, respectful workplace—or are we only measuring results at any cost? It’s time for change. Legal action should not be the catalyst to hold us accountable. Let’s choose to do better now! https://lnkd.in/geaCjdWT https://lnkd.in/g4ZeXjiA #WorkplaceSafety #GenderBasedViolence #MiningIndustry #InclusionMatters #AccountabilityInAction #RespectAtWork

  • From Reflection to Action At Beyond Diversity Inc., we are committed to doing the work—not just to learn from the past, but to actively create a safer, more equitable future for everyone. Gender-based violence isn’t just a societal issue; it’s a workplace issue. It affects individuals, teams, and entire organizations. The good news? We can do something about it. By creating inclusive cultures, addressing harmful power dynamics, and standing up for what’s right, workplaces can become spaces where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered. Change starts with awareness, but it thrives with action. #EndGBV #WorkplaceSafety #InclusionInAction #BeyondDiversity #SaferFutures
