🌟 Exciting Highlights and Key Takeaways from #Money20/20 2024! 🌟 Just wrapped up an amazing experience at Money20/20 2024, and was honored to be a part of #Riseup program for emerging leaders on behalf of BuyProperly. I’m buzzing with insights and ideas! Here are some key highlights from the event: 1️⃣ Insights from Industry Leaders: Opening of the event by NYSE President Lynn Martin was the best ever ! It was a power full women leader, talking about Innovation (including AI) and cautiously optimistic economic future. Sarah Friar from Open AI - drew crowds to a scale only AI can. This theme emerged again and again through out the event and I was so excited to witness it. 2️⃣ Insights from Industry Leaders: Rohit Chopra drew respect with his thoughtful responses. Fintech's and Regulators are often pushing boundaries, ore creating them hence at loggerheads- but sometimes you just have to agree with a regulator's well thought through, non -panic inducing insights. SVB to Signature Bank to everything else 3️⃣ Diversity in Fintech: Panels discussing the role of diversity and inclusion in fintech highlighted the need for varied perspectives to drive innovation. DEI panels that drew tears meant , time for change has come. And I faced an aggressor who told me women's /DEI initiatives are stepping on his rights as a white man. 4️⃣ Collaboration for Change: Everyone was in a get deals done mode ! How coming together can amplify our impact and drive meaningful change in the industry. Thanks to my totally cool friend and mentor TJ Castro Lim for helping me getting the most out of the event. Thanks Eva Wong for introducing this conference and #Riseup to me Sharon Rivera, Genevieve Dozier, Tracey Davies (Byers), Samantha Pidoux - made the event worth every minute. And the cohort of strong powerful ambitious and very genuine fintech folks - 60 of them - gave me a new boost of energy ! Last week, Consulate General of Canada in Chicago | Le Consulat général du Canada à Chicago partnered with World Business Chicago for the Future o Fintech Week. Our events were a great success, and I'm so proud of the Canadian companies that were able to participate and make a real splash here in Chicago: BuyProperly; Finhaven; Oxia Initiative; Sibli; Planworth: obsiido. These companies received significant attention from partners, clients and investors, and that's part of my job with the Trade Commissioner Service | Service des délégués commerciaux: to make these links. That's not the highlight for me, though. The highlight was one of the founders saying to me: 'I'm an immigrant to Canada. To be able to speak on behalf of my company, in Chicago, at an event organized by the Canadian government, in front of a Canadian flag. That was huge for me and my company'. What a pleasure it is to work with such people.
