What is the role of CO2 injection in concrete manufacturing? This reaction offers a dual benefit: 1) improving the cement hydration reaction, enabling cement reductions in concrete, and 2) CO2 mineralization to permanently sequester it within the concrete microstructure. This enables cost savings for producers thanks to cement reduction and mix adjustment. Learn more in our new white paper: https://bit.ly/3OntCGa #Concrete #Cement #CarbonCure

Making Concrete That Matters.
About us
Concrete That Matters: CarbonCure Technologies is on a mission to make concrete a climate solution, reducing embodied carbon emissions in the built environment and transforming concrete plants into a worldwide network of carbon removal factories. Across the global concrete industry, CarbonCure is scaling an integrated decarbonization platform, offering concrete producers a suite of hardware, software and services to reduce the carbon footprint of their concrete products, reduce their production costs and meet the surging demand for green building materials without compromising performance. CarbonCure’s technologies are retrofitted into concrete plants without disrupting operations and seamlessly integrate with existing batching processes. CarbonCure injects captured CO₂ across the concrete manufacturing process, with commercialized solutions for ready mix concrete, precast concrete and reclaimed water. Upon injection, CO₂ immediately mineralizes in concrete, becoming permanently embedded. Even if a structure is later demolished, the nanoparticles of mineralized carbon will not return to the atmosphere. This mineralization also enables producers to reduce the amount of cement needed for each batch of concrete. Carbon XPRIZE Grand Prize winner, Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame Company and a category leader in low carbon concrete technologies and carbon removal, CarbonCure delivers a true win-win, with climate benefits for the world and economic benefits for concrete producers in one of the world's hardest-to-decarbonize industries. This week, I had the incredible privilege of representing CarbonCure Technologies in the Blue Zone at COP29 Azerbaijan in Baku on a Carbon Capture Utilization panel, hosted by Bassam Bakalh of the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Energy. The topic, Advancing Innovative Carbon Utilization Technologies to Achieve Climate Ambitions, sparked a robust and forward-looking discussion about the role of CO₂ utilization in decarbonizing our planet’s most challenging industries. Thank you to Bassam and my fellow panelists for a great conversation. As I shared during the panel, carbon utilization can and should be a key component of global climate strategies. At CarbonCure, we’re proving how CO₂ can be transformed from a challenge into an asset by embedding it into concrete, the world’s most used building material. This approach not only reduces the carbon footprint of concrete, without any compromises or cost barriers, it also unlocks new business opportunities for the cement and concrete industry amid surging demand for lower carbon concrete worldwide. As a company, we’re proud to lead the way in decarbonizing one of the hardest-to-abate sectors. CarbonCure’s journey began with pioneering technology to mineralize CO₂ in concrete. This year, we achieved a milestone of 500,000 metric tons of CO₂ savings across more than two dozen countries, with a focus on deploying our solution across Europe and the Middle East, including new producer partners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Looking ahead, we aim to sustain this momentum by: Expanding partnerships to bring our technologies to new markets. Collaborating with policymakers to support robust carbon utilization frameworks. Doubling down on research to unlock new applications for CO₂ and drive greater impact. Interested to learn more?
