  • For over 20 years, The Citadel has partnered with Edmonton's Food Bank during the run of A Christmas Carol and collectively, our patrons have helped raise over 1.5 million dollars. This year, once again, Capital Power has pledged a matching donation up to $25,000! 🧡 Let's surpass last year's goal and make this holiday season a memorable one for so many families in our community. There are multiple ways to give: 1. Dropping off a non-perishable food item 2. Online at https://lnkd.in/gz7K_pMd 3. After your next performance of A Christmas Carol where the cast will be waiting in costume to collect your generous donations. Most needed non-perishable items: Beans without pork, canned fish or meat, baby formula, diapers, peanut butter, healthy school snacks, soup, canned fruit or vegetables, pasta & pasta sauce, hot & cold cereal

This week I worked with Susanne Chmait, Kristi Hansen and team at the Citadel Theatre to produce some content to highlight the theatre's Accessible Performances, which include ASL Interpreted Performances, Audio Described Performances, Touch Tours, Captioned Performances, and Relaxed Performances. These performances are great for families with babies or younger children (kids 5 and under are welcome!), people with sensory concerns, autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders, dementia, folks who are Deaf or hard of hearing or who may need to leave the theatre frequently during the performance for whatever reason. It's really cool and inclusive! This was a project where I pitched a "funnier" / comedic skit concept for the video and I am grateful to the Citadel for going for it! You can watch the video on Instagram: https://lnkd.in/deEx2eaU where I play myself as well as a judgy person, and my baby Benjimin's Snorlax stuffie plays him lol. You can also see the dates for upcoming Accessible Performances here: https://lnkd.in/dVbPufBs

  • It is with heavy hearts we share the news of the sudden passing of Julien Arnold, a beloved actor and dear friend of the Citadel Theatre. A cherished member of the Edmonton theatre community, Julien was a gifted performer whose charisma and talent graced our stage in countless productions, including A Christmas Carol. Julien’s passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, fellow Carol company members, Citadel staff, and the Edmonton community he loved so dearly. His presence brought joy, heart and depth to every role, and his artistic contributions - and big hugs - will be deeply missed. In his honour, this season’s run of A Christmas Carol is dedicated to his memory. We kindly ask for respect for his family’s privacy during this difficult time. Your love, support, and well wishes are deeply appreciated. A GoFundMe has been created to support his family during this time.
