  • Developing our people is a key focus for our Learning & Development team at Compass Group Canada. Our Learning & Development initiatives—spanning online courses, facilitated workshops, mentorship programs, and leadership learning journeys—help create a workplace where passion meets purpose.    Programs like Masters of the Mic bring this mission to life by helping associates build essential skills in presentation, networking, and leadership.   To kick off this exciting series, we welcomed AVARA Media CEO and co-founder Vikas Gupta as our inaugural guest speaker last week!    Vikas is known for his entrepreneurial spirit, bold thinking, and crafting innovative business models, leveraging Augmented Reality technologies to inspire action for a healthier planet.   During his session, Vikas shared invaluable insights into the future of tech and the societal shifts in embracing change, weaving together his expertise in disruptive technologies and the power of storytelling. Followed up with a fireside chat, Vikas shared a few tips for delivering an impactful presentation: 🎤 Know your audience, know your material, 🎤 Include a variety of engagement types like video, questions to the audience, even a sly joke, 🎤 Practice in front of a mirror and most of all, 🎤 Have FUN!   The audience left feeling energized to become confident communicators and thought leaders themselves. 💭   Here’s to many more engaging sessions as we continue mastering the art of impactful communication together!

  • Last week we welcomed members of our Diversity and Inclusion Action Councils (DIACs) for our first ever Diversity Conference, titled "Thriving at the Intersection." This was a day dedicated to learning, connection, and envisioning the future of EDI at Compass Group Canada.   The agenda was rich with transformative discussions and learning opportunities. Highlights included a powerful session on The Intersections of Mental Health led by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Toronto, an inspiring Executive Panel featuring leaders at the forefront of EDI innovation, and a forward-thinking Fireside Chat with special guests Craig Wellington (CEO, Black Opportunity Fund) and Victoria Kuketz Riddell (Director of Corporate Engagement, Catalyst Inc.).   This day truly showcased the important role our DIACs play in shaping our culture, and solidified our commitment to building safe, inclusive, and equitable spaces where everyone can thrive.   Thank you to all the participants, speakers, and organizers who brought this impactful event to life. These conversations are what’s driving change and ensuring that EDI remains at the heart of everything we do.

  • At Compass Group, we’re on a mission to cut our food waste in half by 2030. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue program, to address the issue of food insecurity in communities across Canada like Brant County. With one in six households in the area facing food insecurity, this initiative plays a critical role in providing nutritious meals to those in need.   Since May 2024, as dedicated partners, our Compass One Healthcare team and Brant Community Healthcare System have donated over 2,000 meals to local organizations, helping to reduce food waste and make a meaningful impact in the community. Through our Waste Not 2.0 program, we’re also diverting waste from landfills, cutting greenhouse gases, and supporting a more sustainable future.   Learn more about our work in the Brant community here: https://lnkd.in/eGUVMMxS #FoodRescue #Sustainability #CommunityImpact
