Van Berkom Investment Management Program

Last week, VBIMP had the pleasure of hosting Bastion Asset Management Inc., led by Founding Partner, CEO, and CCO Mathieu Boisvert, along with his team including Benjamin Philippe and Emma Roy, both proud VBIMP alumni. The team provided a detailed overview of their long-short investment strategy, focused on North American small and mid-cap equities. We would like to thank Bastion Asset Management Inc. for taking the time to engage with our students and share their valuable insights. 

Recently, VBIMP students had the opportunity to meet with the management team of Tecsys Inc., including CEO Peter Brereton and CFO Mark Bentler. Tecsys Inc. is a global provider of cloud-based supply chain management software, with a leading position in the health system and hospital verticals. This meeting offered students a deeper understanding of Tecsys' business, its future goals and strategic objectives. Having invested in the company since 2016, VBIMP sees Tecsys as a reflection of its investment philosophy, which highlights the importance of strong management. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Tecsys management team for taking the time to meet with us, as well as to Balal Rasool and Van Berkom Global Asset Management for making this valuable experience possible.

We are happy to welcome Elizabeth Johnston, CFA and Aniss Gamassi, CFA to the Investment Committee. Bringing over 20 years of experience in Capital Markets, Elizabeth is currently a Portfolio Manager at Addenda Capital. Aniss was VBIMP Class of 2020, and he is now Senior Investment Analyst at Bastion Asset Management. At the same time, we bid farewell to Owen Gibbons, who has been an integral part of our Investment Committee since the beginning of the program. We are grateful for the Committee’s commitment and generosity with their time, as they play a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding the students of the VBIMP.
