This month, our Indigenous Peoples Inclusion Network held a winter clothing drive for the Saskatoon Indian & Métis Friendship Centre (SIMFC). We purchased items to kick off the drive and encouraged team members to donate their gently used winter essentials like boots, jackets, mitts and toques. We recently brought these items to SIMFC where they will be given to those in need. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Building Sustainable Communities Together
About us
Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) does business differently. At its core, FCL is a co-operative that supports other co-operatives that serve people in Western Canada. We aim to create an experience for our team members where employees feel at home here and find success, community, and purpose. We encourage our team members to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop their careers within FCL and the larger Co-op system. FCL is a wholesaling, manufacturing, marketing and administrative co-operative owned by more than 160 independent retail co-operative associations. These retail co-ops own and operate agro centres, food stores, gas bars/convenience stores and home centres.

FCL’s Community Builders program recognizes team members – like Ben and Sterling – who give back to their communities through volunteerism. Both are active members of the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon. “[Volunteering with the Kinsmen Club] has provided me with continuous growth and development, [as well as] relationship building, leadership and public speaking opportunities. Joining has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! I find it so fulfilling to help others, be part of a great organization and have fun at the same time,” said Ben on the benefits of volunteering with Kinsmen. “The donations to the Kinsmen Club from FCL’s Community Builders program really reflect FCL’s commitment to the community by aligning with the values and dedication of its employees. This program shows that FCL not only values the time and effort that its employees give to causes they care about, but it also supports those efforts financially,” said Sterling when asked about the impact of the Community Builders program. Thanks to Ben and Sterling’s ongoing contributions, FCL has donated a total of $3,000 to the Kinsmen Club.
