On this 12th and final day of Christmas, we celebrate You, our members. What started as an informal lunch of 11 geophysicists in 1949 ballooned to 102 members by 1950, and into the thousands already by 1970. Decades later, we have grown even more as a society by the kind of events we offer and things that we do, all because of our long list of members. 75 years is a long time to grow! #12thdayofChristmas #cseg #geophysics

On Day 11, we look back to 2012 when the first CSEG Symposium was held in honor of Brian Russell and Dan Hampson. Since then, this growing annual event draws incredible member and industry support and is a day in our CSEG calendar that we all look forward to. #cseg #11thdayofChristmas #symposium

Did you know the CSEG used to host an annual spring dance? First held in April 1958, it was attended by over 250 members and was so successful, it was deemed the First Annual Spring Dance. As for when it ended, we couldn't find the date! #10daysofChristmas #dance #event

Day 9 finds us on the slopes, in 1967, when the first Ski Spree was held. Organized by CSEG Ladies Auxiliary, this group was a strong force of women in the industry and wives of CSEG members.
