Denmark’s decades of expertise in wind energy meet Kansas’ thriving renewable energy landscape! This collaboration highlights the immense potential of transatlantic partnerships to drive innovation, build greener economies, and expand the future of wind energy across the Atlantic.
Danish energy companies experience Kansas’ wind power growth first-hand! This week, a delegation of representatives from Global Wind Service, DEIF, A-LEAF Specialized Consulting , HydraSpecma, SCANCON Encoders A/S, KK Wind Solutions, Altura – a Division of IRISNDT, FORCE Technology, and Ventoco are visiting Kansas to explore the state’s thriving wind energy sector and discuss opportunities for future collaborations. Accompanied by Morten Siem Lynge, Consul General of Houston, and Alexander Burster, Wind Commercial Advisor, the group has gained valuable insights into Kansas’ energy ecosystems through dialogues with Evergy Energy Partners Kansas Central, Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, Greater Wichita Chamber of Commerce, Advanced Power Alliance, ITC Great Plains, LLC, Climate And Energy Project, Greater Wichita Partnership, Watco Companies LLC, and Kansas State University Technology Development Institute. Moreover, the group learned about market opportunities as well as established and upcoming wind energy projects in the area during meetings with local key industry stakeholder Siemens Gamesa. In 2023, wind power generated 46% of Kansas’ electricity, and with its vast wind resources, the state is increasingly becoming a vital part of the US wind energy industry. This week’s delegation provides a valuable chance for Danish innovators to share decades of experiences from Denmark with local counterparts, build partnerships, and collaborate on expanding the potential for wind energy on both sides of the Atlantic. We want to thank Brad Reams, from GREAT PLAINS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, and Laura Lombard, from , for coordinating and helping to get everything up and running, as well as everyone who participated in making this delegation a success!
