Digital Arts Resource Centre (formerly SAW Video) is a not-for-profit, artist-run media art centre, founded in 1981.
About us
Digital Arts Resource Centre (DARC) is an artist-run centre committed to supporting the ground-breaking artistic production, presentation and programming of independent video and media art. DARC provides many services to its members including affordable technical facilities and a wide range of programs. Its services and programs are designed to create an atmosphere that inspires production through the exchange of ideas around form, content and style. In concrete terms, DARC supports independent media artists with affordable access to video production and post-production facilities, grants and mentorship programs, a comprehensive range of introductory, intermediate and advanced workshops, as well as screenings and exhibitions. Artists are encouraged to explore video and electronic media in conjunction with other forms of expression. As a result, DARC's facilities are used in a wide range of productions from video art to drama, documentary, multi-media, performance, installation, and community-based projects. DARC values diversity and actively promotes access and equity for all artists regardless of age, class, gender, sexual orientation, language, race or ability. DARC is committed to providing affordable access to all programs and activities, to increasing francophone services and programming, and to paying artist fees for all programmed events and exhibits.
