This 25-year initiative, will be rolled out across three locations, with Moose Jaw serving a central role. This investment not only reinforces Moose Jaw's long-standing history in military aviation training but also marks a significant milestone for the city and the surrounding region, promising long-term economic and community benefits. Congratulations to the City of Moose Jaw and all those involved in this major announcement.
It was an exciting morning learning more about the Future Aircrew Training Program (FAcT) coming to the City of Moose Jaw's 15 Wing Moose Jaw Canadian Forces Base. The delivery of this $11.2 billion program is part of a 25 year contract that's been awarded to SkyAlyne, a joint venture between CAE and KF Aerospace, to provide the Royal Canadian Air Force | Aviation royale canadienne with modern, state-of-the-art pilot training. Of the three training centres that are part of this program, Moose Jaw's will be the largest with a training and simulator facility, hanger facility, accomodations and mess facility. As the project gears up to start procurement for services in 2025, local companies looking to be involved with the construction of this state-of-the-art facility are encouraged to apply at the link below to become a registered supplier. https://lnkd.in/geMkVa6H This will include everything from construction and trades to IT services, operational equipment, transportation, site services and much more. I look forward to seeing this project come to life.

The Bank of Canada has implemented its fifth consecutive rate cut this year, reducing its policy rate by 50 basis points to 3.25%. This marks the second half-point cut in a row, a move not seen since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2008 financial crisis. Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem explained that with inflation now back to target, monetary policy no longer needs to be in clearly restrictive territory. Overall, this rate cut aims to stimulate the economy by encouraging spending and investment while keeping inflation close to the 2% target. As discussions continue around the potential risk of a 25% U.S. tariff on all Canadian goods, EDR has conducted a thorough analysis. Our findings show that this policy could lead to a direct economic loss of $174M for Regina and a nearly $4B reduction in exports across key provincial sectors. "Our agricultural, manufacturing, and energy sectors are crucial to the province’s economic health, and a disruption in trade with the U.S. could have a devastating impact. The potential loss of billions in exports, combined with resulting job cuts and rising costs, would not only affect businesses but also put a strain on everyday life for families and communities across the province.” - EDR CEO, Chris Lane ICD.D To read more and for the full analysis breakdown, click the link below:
