Canada's capital fireworks show was a beautiful close to Canada Day 2024 in Ottawa's LeBreton Flats this July 1st. But the glittering display leaves behind metallic compounds and a cloud of smoke, and research is lacking on the health impacts. EcoSafeSense deployed sensors in the middle of the action, then ran the numbers to sense what the crowd would be exposed to. Check it out below! This challenge called for technologies that would enable Region of Durham Paramedic Services to monitor air quality at high levels of spatial resolution across #DurhamRegion.
