It was great attending the Advanced Design & Manufacturing Expo, an event organized by Informa Markets - Engineering! Throughout this exciting two-day expo, we were inspired to see so many businesses committed to hitting their sustainability goals and the opportunities for our PCR resins to help make that happen. In fact, there was notable enthusiasm for increasing and innovating PCR overall, which was very encouraging. The conference also provided an excellent platform to network with so many people from across the industry in one place. We had a wonderful time at the Western Plastics Association Annual Conference! Canada made a strong impression at this critical regional forum in San Diego, with a significant presence of delegates from British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. It was clear that players from the United States are looking at the Canadian example in recycling policy and circular solutions for plastics. Mark Sabourin, our Procurement and Logistics Manager, proudly repped EFS, meeting with leaders in plastic packaging and resin manufacturing, as well as equipment and additive suppliers for the Western US and Canada. He also left with many takeaways about relevant topics, from advances in food-contact PCR and the critical balance between food safety, spoilage, and packaging design for recycling to legislative trends in California and the US and the economic outlook for 2025. Overall, it was an engaging and productive event. Plus, you can’t beat an evening cruise of the San Diego harbour! Thanks for having us. AMI’s Plastics Recycling World Expo North America was, as always, a fantastic event! The conference proved immensely valuable, as Hendrik Dullinger, our VP of Business Development, Marc Goldenberg, our Manager of New Business Development, Mathew Adams, our Director of Sales, and Arjun K., our Manager of Closed Loop Programs & Sales, were able to meet customers and suppliers, learn about new PCR initiatives, and discuss potential projects. Hendrik also enjoyed participating in the engaging industry debate, “New directions: how will proposed and implemented legislation affect plastics recycling in North America.” It was great meeting and reconnecting with our peers at the networking party, as well as exploring Cleveland’s nightlife as a team. Meet Stacey Lee Romat, our Logistics and Scheduling Manager! Simply put, Stacey schedules the plants and the trucks for the plants. In reality, however, Stacey is a jack of all trades who does more than words can describe in her role, including getting involved in our fundraisers. In her free time, you’ll find her with her adorable dog, Truffles. Together, they enjoy activities, like dock diving lure courses. Additionally, Stacey is highly involved in her local Big Brothers Big Sisters community. We enjoyed returning to Recycling Today’s Paper and Plastics Recycling Conference, hosted with the support of the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA)! Our entire procurement team, Susan Church, Procurement Manager, Mark Sabourin, CCLP, Procurement and Logistics Manager, and Aidan Ward, Procurement Manager and Technical Sales Representative, convened in Chicago for this long-running plastics and packaging recycling conference. As always, the conference attracted key players in the recycling community, with a significant presence from the Midwest and Western United States. And, we were right in our element as traders of specialized plastic commodities. It was the perfect meeting ground for us, as we were able to connect with our suppliers and reconnect with various traders and service providers that keep recycled material moving efficiently across the continent. Overall, it was rewarding to once again attend this event and take in the magnificent architecture of the city’s Loop district.
