Special Projects Progress Update! We are making great progress on the Deep Energy Retrofit of the IISAAK Learning Lodge at the Pacific Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCA) Innovation Centre’s Clayoquot Campus. - Ridgeline is nearing completion of the exterior building membrane. - Surepoint Electrical is close to completing the rough-in. - Farmer Construction has wrapped up most of the demolition, structural upgrades, and framing. This transformative project, funded by the Federal Government’s Green and Inclusive Community Buildings (GICB) program. The upgrades to the mechanical system and exterior of the building will deliver significant energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance accessibility inside the Lodge. McCallum Lands Project Update This Week’s Featured Trade: TYCON STEEL A huge shoutout to Tycon Steel and their dedicated team for their outstanding work on the McCallum site! Despite challenging weather, Mike and the crew have powered through to complete the latest - and our second-to-last - RAFT slab. This massive slab is reinforced with over 170,000 lbs. of steel, a true testament to the skill and perseverance of the Tycon Steel team. What’s Next? We are gearing up for the next phase! Next week, Gerald and the Farmer Construction Concrete Team will pour over 1,000 cubic meters of concrete over this steel framework, to solidify another significant piece of the foundation. Their team has been an essential part of the project, currently making strides on Building C. Building D is now complete and it looks fantastic! A huge thanks to Graham and his site team for their meticulous attention to detail, from the Hardie board siding to the smooth installation of windows and doors. We are thrilled with the progress so far and can’t wait to see the finished product on all four buildings.
