Yesterday we were able to contribute to an inspiring initiative led by Corrine Trottier, Indigenous Wellness Coordinator at Valleyview Hospital. Corrine’s work focuses on supporting Indigenous patients from across northern Alberta during their hospital stays. Her efforts bring comfort and healing through cultural education, translation support, and Indigenous-focused health services, making a real difference for patients and their families. Fraction was happy to make a donation to support Corrine’s vision at the same time attending and celebrating the open house of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation’s new on-reserve women’s shelter. Our donation will help provide essential items for Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation members during their hospital stays, such as blankets, clothing, and entertainment items. These small comforts can have a big impact on someone’s recovery journey. Our goal is to establish an annual fund to sustain and grow this initiative, ensuring ongoing support for Indigenous patients at Valleyview. 🎄 What a great way to kick off the holiday season! 🎄 The Fraction Energy Services Team had so much fun spreading Christmas cheer at the Elders Christmas Dinner with the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation-Chief Sheldon Sunshine ,Lynn, Tracey, Karl Moses, Clyde Goodswimmer, Grant Goodswimmer. With over 200 elders in attendance, it was a joy to connect with so many wonderful individuals while serving dinner. A big thank you to our President and CEO Ken Wagner for embracing the role of Santa Claus 🎅 – he absolutely nailed it and might have enjoyed it even more than everyone else! 😉 We’re also so appreciative of Veren for being the perfect elves and partnering with us to make this event such a meaningful experience. This Remembrance Day, we pause to honour and reflect on the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of all who have served in the armed forces—those who stood in the face of conflict and those who devoted themselves during times of peace. The bravery and resilience shown by these individuals have safeguarded our freedoms and built the foundation upon which our communities stand today. We offer our deepest gratitude to those who served in conflicts around the world, enduring hardship and risk to protect others. And we are equally thankful for those who served during peace, ever-ready to protect and defend. Every uniformed individual has contributed to the legacy of freedom, hope, and unity we hold dear. As we remember these courageous individuals, we honour their unwavering dedication and the lasting legacy they have left behind. Among them are current Green Energy employees who have served, embodying the same commitment and resilience. Their service—whether on the front lines, in support roles, or in readiness during times of peace—has preserved the freedoms and values we hold dear. This Remembrance Day, let us reflect, honour and remember these heroes. Their stories inspire us, and their contributions remind us of the strength found in unity and gratitude.
