We are thrilled to share our latest scientific contribution to advancing flood risk modeling! Our team’s work has been published in the prestigious journal Hydrology and Earth System Sciences (HESS). This paper delves into innovative methods for improving flood hazard modeling, a critical step towards building more resilient communities. This achievement reflects our commitment to combining cutting-edge science with practical solutions to mitigate climate risks. A huge congratulations to our talented research team for this outstanding accomplishment!
🌟 Thrilled to Share Our Latest Research on Flood Risk Modeling! 🌟 Proud to announce the publication of our latest paper, "Novel extensions to the Fisher copula to model flood spatial dependence over North America" in Hydrology and Earth System Sciences. This study is the first of its kind in Canada, leveraging innovative methodologies to model flood spatial dependence on a continental scale. Collaborating with brilliant minds at Geosapiens, we've introduced machine learning and statistical advancements to create synthetic flood event catalogs, a game-changer in understanding flood risk across ungauged regions. Why does this matter? 📊 Flooding is inherently spatial. A robust event catalog enables unprecedented precision in predicting and mitigating flood impacts. This research equips stakeholders—urban planners, governments, and insurers—with tools to make informed decisions and build resilience against climate-driven disasters. 🌐 A big thanks to my co-authors, Duy Anh Alexandre and Jasmin Gill-Fortin, and the Geosapiens team. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of geospatial and hydrological research.
