Neighborhood community officers from Toronto Police 12 Division recently joined GlobalMedic to assemble 400 winterization kits for those in need. Each kit includes warm essentials like toques, scarves, and socks, along with hygiene items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Officers will distribute these kits to those in need, offering a meaningful source of warmth and care to under-housed individuals in the community.

At GlobalMedic, we're excited to have donated a fire skid unit to the Kensington Fire Department which covers 6,000 people across a vast rural area of Prince Edward Island. This innovative team has designed a system where the skid unit is hauled on a trailer, making it easier to access grass fires. With their off-road vehicle and specially designed trailer, they can take the unit even further into challenging terrain. Already trained and ready to deploy, the Kensington Fire Department is now better equipped to fight fires and keep their community safe!

The situation for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh remains critical. Over a million people who fled genocidal violence in Myanmar have been living in camps for years, struggling to access basic necessities like clean drinking water. With donor attention shifting to other crises, these families are being left behind. At GlobalMedic, we’re taking action. We recently loaded sea containers filled with Family Emergency Kits, each containing a point-of-use water purification unit, hygiene supplies, and a solar light.

In New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island, home to 3,500 residents, the local fire department is enhancing their firefighting capabilities with a new fire skid unit, thanks to a generous donation from GlobalMedic. The skid unit, complete with a 1,000-liter tank, pump, and hose, will be mounted on a trailer or pickup truck, allowing firefighters to reach forest fires in hard-to-access areas. Fire Chief Jason Peters appreciates the support, knowing this addition will make their firefighting efforts more efficient and effective in protecting the community.

North of the capital of Moldova, in a small town of 50,000, many Ukrainian refugees have settled with limited access to resources. GlobalMedic is on the ground, providing Family Emergency Kits containing water purification units, hygiene supplies, and solar lights to help families living in rural areas. Alongside this, fresh produce and staple food items are being distributed to ensure families receive the nutrition they need. With ongoing distributions and a mobile food bank, we are reaching those in need across the countryside.

GlobalMedic is proud to support the province of Prince Edward Island by providing versatile fire skid units to support local fire services. Designed for quick deployment, these skid units can be mounted on trucks, trailers, or utility vehicles like side-by-sides, allowing firefighters to reach hard-to-access areas during grass, brush, and forest fires. With PEI’s forested terrain, this donation helps improve the island’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to fires, ensuring community safety.

Since August 2017, nearly a million Rohingya refugees have been living in temporary camps in Bangladesh after fleeing extreme violence in Myanmar. With no formal settlements, these families struggle to access clean drinking water and proper water storage solutions. GlobalMedic has been working to address these urgent needs, and we are continuing our efforts by sending more Family Emergency Kits. Each kit includes a water purification unit, hygiene supplies, and a solar light to help improve daily life for these families.

The new Glasgow Fire Department in Prince Edward Island: where community dedication meets preparedness. GlobalMedic is proud to have donated a fire skid, a skid-mounted unit with a pump, hose, and tank, to help them tackle tough forest fires. The fire chief explained how they'll mount it on a trailer, or pickup truck, for easier access to hard-to-reach areas. This is a great example of how GlobalMedic’s support is helping local teams respond to emergencies more effectively!

It's an exciting day at GlobalMedic as we load 6,400 Family Emergency Kits for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. In partnership with IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation), volunteers have packed each kit which includes a point-of-use water purification unit, hygiene supplies including soap, and a solar light. These essentials will arrive in Cox’s Bazar and allow families in need to access clean water, improve hygiene, and have a reliable source of light.

In Moldova, GlobalMedic has set up a humanitarian aid distribution point to support Ukrainian refugee families in need. Several times a week, families gather to receive essential food aid, organized through tools like WhatsApp group chats and Google Forms. This system ensures families receive the right amount of supplies based on their needs, providing vital support during difficult times. By streamlining the process, we can reach more families efficiently and make a meaningful impact.
