The parent company for two of BC’s most trusted and loved food brands, IGA and Fresh St. Market is now named Georgia Main Food Group.Georgia Main Food Group is the new corporate brand name for the food operations of H.Y. Louie, a successful family-led business started in 1903. This name comes from the location of the founder’s first grocery store on Georgia Street near Main in Vancouver’s Chinatown, where local food markets still operate today.

A huge congratulations to everyone at IGA Stores of BC and Fresh St. Market, who have collectively donated an enormous 3.5 million meals to hunger relief organizations across B.C. Rather than send the food they are unable to sell to waste streams, these retailers take the time to box it up and redistribute it, so it can be put onto the plates of people who need it. Since our partnership began in 2020, these stores have diverted more than 2 million KG of their unsold food away from waste streams.
