  • You've heard us talk about the Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Plan - well, here it is in action! Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming local philanthropist, Mr. John Domsy (pictured), to our Headquarters to thank him and his wife, Mrs. Nicole Domsy, for their generous donation to our annual Kozy Kids program, dedicated to offering new snowsuits to underserved children across Halton. One of the four key levels of CSWB is social development, which includes finding ways to promote social and economic inclusion so that people's needs are met and the risk of them experiencing harm or crisis is reduced. By equipping underserved children with necessities such as snowsuits, and with the caring support from members of our community like the Domsy family, children who need a helping hand are in a better position to thrive through their younger years, and in the long-term. Speaking of their wish to support the Kozy Kids program, Mr. and Mrs. Domsy said: "At the Domsy Foundation, we're all about helping local organizations that support Halton's underserved children. Ensuring youth have equal opportunities to fulfill their potential starts with securing them life's necessities. We celebrate the tremendous work being done by the Halton Regional Police Service and are proud to partner with them on the Kozy Kids program to make a positive difference in the lives of even more children in the future." Following today's cheque ceremony, and as a small token of our Service's appreciation, Deputy Chief Kevin Maher proudly presented Mr. Domsy with an HRPS challenge coin - a military symbol that has since been adopted by police, commemorating outstanding accomplishments and unity. Please join us in thanking Mr. and Mrs. Domsy for their commitment to our Service and desire to make a positive difference in our shared community.
