In late November, the Faculty of Engineering and Design - Carleton University's Women in Engineering & IT Program held its Career and Networking Fair for Women in STEM. Hydro Ottawa is a proud supporter of this program and met with students at the fair about potential career paths and upcoming opportunities for students and new graduates. It was a pleasure to meet with so many eager young women and see the impact of programs that promote gender diversity in fields where women are underrepresented.

A well-deserved congratulations to Geoff Simpson, CFO of Hydro Ottawa, for being named CFO of the Year by the Ottawa Board of Trade. Geoff's leadership and financial acumen have been instrumental in Hydro Ottawa's continued success. This year, he led a financial restructuring that reduced borrowing costs, increased financial capacity, and positioned the company for future growth. He's also played a key role in helping Hydro Ottawa understand the financial implications of climate change. But Geoff's impact extends beyond the balance sheet. He's known for his longstanding commitment to the Ottawa community, dedicating his time and energy to numerous charitable causes.
