Delegates emphasized the urgent need to accelerate implementation of aviation facilitation strategies at ICAO's 19th Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) Symposium, which recently concluded at ICAO Headquarters. The four-day event, which brought together over 600 participants from 76 States and 6 international organizations, underscored the importance of aligning global regulatory frameworks with cutting-edge technology. By doing so, the aviation community aims to improve the passenger journey while maintaining robust security and facilitation standards. The latest edition of Annex 13 - 𝘈𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘵 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘐𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 is now available in the ICAO Store. 📚 This annex outlines how accident investigation participating States are determined, as well as the process leading to the issuance of an accident investigation Preliminary Report (within 30 days of the event) and Final Report (ASAP or within 12 months of the event) following completion of the investigation. Final Reports ultimately provide as much official information as possible on an accident investigation's findings, causes and/or contributing factors, as well as any safety recommendations on how applicable aviation safety frameworks should be amended in the future.
