Holiday Breakfast at Hub350 was a huge hit! 🌟 Thank you to the many people who came out and joined us for breakfast, crafts, and some one-on-one time with Santa. This time, we added a festive twist—a Holiday Housewarming to officially celebrate our move into our new office inside the Hub350 building, right in the heart of the tech park (just 50 steps from our old office 😉)! Talk about the joyful power of live music and how it brings people together! #Ottawa aims to be a music city- a destination for live music – and this movement is gaining momentum due to the collective efforts of several local leaders and groups. We at Wesley Clover, ended the year with a special #CEOTuesday at The Marshes Golf Club exploring why tech and music belong together with an incredible lineup of speakers and musicians who helped us celebrate an end to the year. Our evening started out with the beautiful bright voice of a young, award-winning local musician, Jessica Pearson of Jessica Pearson and the East Wind who has opened the Good Lovelies, Blue Rodeo. Followed by Kevin Ford of Calian Group on guitar joined by Melanie Brulee of Ottawa Music Industry Coalition | Coalition de l'industrie musicale d'Ottawa on vocals. We then shifted into an informal discussion led by our very own Veronica Farmer with Kevin Ford, Melanie Brulee and John Sicard of Kinaxis, on the importance of live music and its positive connection to business and tech. Today I am happy to announce $14.6M in funding for 35 projects across the country. One of these projects is being carried out by the Kanata North Business Association, and will test a 𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼-𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 within a Canadian technology park.” - The Honourable Minister of Transport, Anita Anand 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 💰 Kanata North's transit solution project will cost $2.2M, with $1.4M provided by Transport Canada - Transports Canada. 🌱 Project will deploy a zero-emissions, medium-speed autonomous vehicle. 🛣️ The vehicle will run a loop through Canada's Largest Tech Park, following extensive testing at Area X.O. 🧪 A natural progression from previous automated shuttle tests, allowing Canada to demonstrate and scale technologies for future applications. ⚠️ Will allow Canada to determine safety aspects and parameters that need to be addressed when putting autonomous shuttles on our roads.
