As we celebrate International Women's Day this week, we’re proud to highlight the powerful voice of our client, Rebecca Bailey, CEO of Women in Communications & Technology. Through a recent series of op-eds in The Hill Times, Rebecca is reshaping the conversation around women’s participation in the workplace, positioning WCT as a leading voice on gender equity issues. At Kit, we are delighted to be a part of this process, ensuring important conversations like these reach the right audience. Op-eds are a valuable tool for sharing your ideas and gaining “earned media” visibility. Whether you're looking to change minds, influence policymakers or establish yourself or your organization as a thought leader, we’re here to help bring your vision to life. Congratulations to Research Canada on an incredibly productive and enlightening event yesterday. Their Stakeholder Action Roundtable brought together industry leaders and academics from across the healthcare, research and innovation space, as well as pollsters and analysts to shed some light on effective advocacy in the current political climate. A few key takeaways from the day: 1) Breaking Down Barriers: Inter-provincial trade and collaboration, especially regarding clinical trials, remains a significant challenge. Given the potential impending tariff war with the U.S., it's never been more important to create a regulatory environment that incentivizes collaboration. 2) Where does healthcare rank in Canadians' priorities?: The latest data ranks healthcare as 3rd in issues Canadians care about (after the rising cost of living and Donald Trump, #1 and #2, respectively) 3) Policy with Purpose: Canada must move beyond pilot-project approaches to long-term trajectories, with a clear vision for the future. 4) Collaboration > Competition: In the health research space, prioritizing collaboration will drive greater impact than competition for resources. #client #healthresearch #innovation #science #advocacy Alison Evans 📊 David Coletto 🌎

Material-specific tariffs are coming into play today, but the threat of broader tariffs are still looming. Canadian businesses and consumers could see rising costs and supply chain disruptions. What's at stake for your industry? Key Questions to Consider: - What’s the long-term impact on your supply chain and sourcing? - How would retaliatory tariffs impact you? - Do policy makers fully understand the impact of US tariffs on your sector? Effective Advocacy Steps: - Engage with policymakers to clarify the short and long-term impacts of tariffs on your industry and consumers - Strengthen relationships with industry associations to amplify your voice - Increase public awareness through thought leadership to generate support Still have questions? We can help! kitpublicaffairs.ca

We are so proud to be supporting the important work of clients like Women in Communications & Technology in their efforts to advance women in the workplace! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Minister Freeland is one of many recent high-profile elected women leaders to resign. As our CEO Rebecca Bailey points out in The Hill Times, this matches what is happening in the private sector. Women leaders are leaving the workplace in droves, and it's time for employers to rethink their retention efforts. As experts in women's workplace equity, WCT has built our flagship programming around these critical issues. Read the full op-ed here 👇🏻 https://lnkd.in/eq_Af4_w

We are constantly inspired by our clients, like PLATO Testing, who are breaking down barriers for their communities every day. Watch Denis Carignan’s testimony at the House of Commons #OGGO committee last week on ways Canada can improve its Indigenous procurement system here ⬇️!
Earlier this week, Denis Carignan appeared as a witness at the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates, focused on Indigenous Procurement. Denis shared PLATO's experience and learnings, with the intent of helping to inform the work of the Committee. As the largest purchaser of goods and services in Canada, the way in which the Canadian Federal Government manages procurement is important to Indigenous business, and to all Canadians. "I acknowledge that, as a business person, I can't change the policy, and that you here, collectively, and the work that you do in Parliament, you are the ones that have the power to influence and make these changes. We're here because previous policy was put into place almost 30 years ago and the policy doesn't work for today's standards."
