Transforming Business Events for Positive Societal Impact – Locally Anchored, Globally Driven.
About us
#MEET4IMPACT is a non-profit designed with the vision of transforming the business events industry by generating a movement to create positive societal impact with its actors and their events. Today, #MEET4IMPACT is at the forefront of change. We believe that the business events and tourism industry can be driven in a way that genuinely benefits destinations and communities and that the true value of business events extends far beyond economic benefits. We’re a small agency deeply anchored in our Montréal community, where we actively engage with the tourism and events as well as the social innovation ecosystems. We are global in our reach and aspirations, and while four of our current team members are located in our home office in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke at the MTLab, a fantastic tourism & culture incubator, we employ three consultants who live in Spain, New Zealand and the UK, while regularly collaborating with a handful of others on specific projects. We also frequently collaborate with our closest partners but also with organizations that others would consider to be competitors by undertaking joint projects, where each organization leverages its key strengths to achieve collective impact. We work with two key target groups: one is the Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) or Convention Bureaus at national or local level. The second is with event organizers directly, most often with international or regional associations. Each of these groups have the power to maximize and scale the impact of events they host or organize in different ways, and all of our methods and services are customized based on the type of entity and their specific impact goals.

We were thrilled to participate in the annual networking event in #Brussels where #impact took center stage at the TALK CEC. 🙌 Kudos to SCIB and their dedicated Swiss partners—including representatives from Crans-Montana Tourism & Congress, Davos Congress / Davos Convention Bureau, and Zürich Tourism—for bringing together a community committed to #Swisstainability. Joining leaders from across Africa and beyond at the 5th African Association Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was an unforgettable experience! 🌐 The focus on “Leveraging AI and Innovation” led to powerful discussions about reshaping the landscape of association impact. We see every day how associations are uniquely positioned to create positive change, but the right strategies make all the difference. This summit emphasized that effective impact means customizing solutions that fit local contexts, cultures, and challenges, rather than applying blanket approaches. 🔅 A big thank you to incredible leaders who shared their insights and vision, including Veemal Gungadin, Frank Murangwa, Lowell Aplebaum, Glenton De Kock, Matt Raven, Alexander Alles, and Kathleen Lihanda - Omol. We’re especially grateful to the founders of Africa Society of Association Executives (AfSAE), Jeffers Miruka, Mungai T. NFI, Gregg H. Talley, and Nicanor Sabula, for championing these transformative dialogues. And to our gracious hosts Mkunde Senyagwa, Naserian Millicent, and Doris Rwebangira Parsons—thank you for your warmth and hospitality. #SocialImpact #PurposeDrivenEvents #AssociationLeadership ICCA

🤔 How Can Association Meetings Help Address Overtourism? In a compelling piece in Association Meetings International’s October Issue, Holly Patrick explores how association meetings can foster sustainable tourism and strengthen community resilience. With insights from Jessica Vandy, Social Impact Consultant at #MEET4IMPACT and changemaker at Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDS-Movement), and Guy Bigwood, FIEMA CEO of GDS-movement. ✨Programs like the Parkinson’s Ready program, developed with the World Parkinson Coalition and Barcelona Convention Bureau, offer a model for inclusive, accessible events by training local staff to support delegates and residents. Similarly, EASL | The Home of Hepatology’s integration of liver health screenings directly benefits local communities. Also, Fáilte Ireland’s focus on regional business hubs helps distribute tourism more evenly, alleviating pressure on major destinations. We are grateful to support the above associations and destinations leveraging business events for social change! “Unlike overtourism caused by leisure visitors, meetings are strategically planned...allowing delegates to participate in authentic experiences that benefit residents and local communities,” shares Jessica Vandy. 💡 📖 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eFHrFiyn #SustainableTourism #Overtourism #CommunityImpact #AssociationMeetings #BusinessEvents #GDSSustainability
