Operation Red Nose provides safe rides home for people and their vehicles during the holidays. The New Afton Mine has been a longtime supporter of the program which has provided rides for an estimated 67,000 residents since it began in Kamloops 27 years ago. The Rainy River Mine team successfully completed the Tailings Management Area (TMA) Stage 6 dam raise using in-house resources. This project, which added +1.0 meter of crest elevation along 7.5 kilometers of perimeter dams, was finished safely, ahead of schedule, and under budget.  https://lnkd.in/eq4bpx2Y  

Commissioned in early 2024, the new Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) at the New Afton Mine serves as a centralized hub for collecting, analyzing and acting on real-time data from across the site. New Gold’s Rainy River Mine recently hosted members of the Independent Tailings Review Board for their annual site tour, allowing for direct observation of operations, construction and maintenance activities.  “Third-party oversight of our tailings facilities is a critical element of effective tailings management, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, and the safe operation of our facilities,” said Sam Amiralaei, Senior Tailings Dam Engineer. “It’s an opportunity not only to enhance our practices even further, but also demonstrates our commitment to responsible mining practices.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gpmA6qJW
