On this World AIDS Day, Nova Scotia Health stands in solidarity with individuals and communities affected by HIV/AIDS. While advances in testing, treatment, and prevention have transformed lives, the fight is far from over. Equitable access to HIV care is needed for all. Stigma and misinformation remain barriers to health and dignity. We are committed to developing and maintaining partnerships with communities to create practical HIV solutions that are free of stigma and discrimination. Here’s what you can do: 💬 Let’s Talk: Open conversations about sexually-transmitted and blood-borne infections save lives. 💉 Get Tested: Knowing your HIV status is a powerful step. ❤️ Show Support: A kind word or gesture can change someone’s day. HIV doesn’t define a person, but compassion and understanding define us all. Together, we can create a future free of stigma and rich in hope. Nova Scotia Health staff with the Nova Scotia eServices Program are on hand at the Dalhousie Fall Refresher in Halifax this week. With many primary care providers taking part in the continuing education event, it is a great chance to highlight how Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health use electronic referrals (eReferrals) to better manage and coordinate access to care. Many referrals for surgical consults, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasounds are now being sent and managed in the eReferral tool and other services will be added over time. Among the benefits, patients who provide an email address with their eReferral get automatic email updates as their referral is received and managed. Learn more about these and other benefits of eReferrals: https://lnkd.in/epqEgQ2P Photo 1: Nova Scotia eServices Program team members (left to right) Kurt Fountain, an at-the-elbow training consultant who provides direct eReferrals training and support to primary care providers and their teams; Jamie Murphy, director of the new eServices Program created to support Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health with the ongoing use and expansion of electronic referrals,
