#NouveauBrunswick #Cybersécurité #OpportunitésNB Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity Government of Canada
Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity receives $10 Million in Funding for the Cyber Attribution Data Centre: Strengthening Canada’s Cybersecurity We are thrilled to announce that the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) has been awarded $10 million in funding from the Government of Canada to establish the Cyber Attribution Data Centre (CADC). This investment enhances Canada’s cybersecurity capabilities. Announced by Public Safety Canada, the funding supports CADC's development to identify malicious cyber actors using advanced cyber attribution intelligence analytics. The Centre will help Canada detect and attribute cyberattacks, strengthening national security and protecting critical infrastructure. As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, the CADC will play a crucial role in countering these threats. Its key functions will include: Tracking and identifying cyberattack origins: Using advanced attribution tools to expose cybercriminals and their methods. Building comprehensive data sets: Developing datasets to predict and prevent cyberattacks. Training the next generation of cybersecurity professionals: Equipping students with skills to defend against cybercrime, ensuring a prepared workforce. In his speech, Dr. Ali A. Ghorbani, Director of CIC, shared: "This partnership with the Government of Canada marks a significant milestone for CIC and the cybersecurity ecosystem in New Brunswick. The Centre will enhance cybersecurity for Canada, enabling us to protect our digital infrastructure." Dr. Ali emphasized the importance of cyber attribution: "Our mission is to develop tools to safeguard our institutions. By collaborating with both the public and private sectors, we aim to mitigate cyberattacks and ensure the protection of our digital future." We are grateful to Minister Dominic LeBlanc, the Department of Public Safety, Respected Frank McKenna & McKenna Institute for their unwavering support. We also acknowledge Paul Mazerolle, President of University of New Brunswick, for his leadership in advancing this initiative. With establishment of CADC, CIC will significantly and positively impact Canada’s cybersecurity landscape. The Cyber Attribution Data Centre will strengthen national security, improve cyber resilience, and foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government. We look forward to working with our partners to build a safer digital environment for Canadians and the world. Read more about this: ➡️ https://bit.ly/3OQPB8O
