If you were one of the lucky 160,000 fans who attended Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres concerts last week, or kept up to date with our socials, you’ll be familiar the LED wristbands handed out at the gates to enhance the immersive experience of the show. These wristbands, created by PixMob, are the world’s first compostable LED wristbands. After the concerts, they were collected at each gate, with all batteries and any broken wristbands recycled. You may have spotted the wristband recycling leaderboard on the screen during the shows, and I’m excited to share the impressive results of how many wristbands were returned. On night one, 86% of wristbands were collected; on Friday, 85%; and on Saturday, an outstanding 88%. This is a fantastic achievement, and it’s amazing to see so many fans supporting this sustainability initiative. What sets Coldplay apart is not just their legendary live performances, but their commitment to eco-friendly practices that help reduce their carbon footprint. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this experience.
