Quantum physics is just about ready to (securely) beam Canadian data up to our country’s first quantum-encrypted communication satellite. As Katanya B. Kuntz, PhD Kuntz, quantum physicist, CEO of Qubo Consulting Corp., and science team coordinator for the Canadian Space Agency’s QEYSSat mission, explains: 🔴 We’ve already been using Quantum 1.0 technologies (like lasers, LEDs, and MRI machines) for decades. 🔴 Now, Quantum 2.0 is here, using principles like entanglement to create secure quantum networks and make our data unhackable. 🇨🇦 Canada’s QEYSSat (Quantum EncrYption and Science Satellite) is set to launch in 2025 or 2026. This mission will enable quantum-encrypted communication by beaming photons between Earth and space. This means: 🔴 Your data (from banking to sensitive government info) becomes 100% theoretically secure. 🔴 Tamper-proof encryption that defends against hacking and ransomware threats.
