Did you know that YOUCAN Youth Services was instrumental in a 28.1% decrease in total charges against the 72 youth participating in their Outreach program (2022 vs 2021)? They are RELENTLESS in creating brighter futures for our community's youth that ultimately will result in lower crime and houselessness levels. Mona Butler and I were fortunate enough to take a tour of the YOUCAN office earlier this week courtesy of Christopher Schmidt and Katie Kitschke (their new CEO), who came to help lead the ship after the untimely passing of their founder Kyle Dubé. We talked about ways we (through Cameron Development Corporation) could collaborate to provide opportunities for the at-risk youth that this organization serves. Some ideas included: > Temporary job placements > Corporate event sponsorships (that comedy night looks pretty sweet!) > Donations > Volunteer opportunities > Social enterprises > Collaborative events and contests ...and a few more out of the box ideas And if they are going to continue to help make change at a greater scale in our community, they are going to need your help. They are outgrowing their aging facility and need a more accessible space to keep up their work of guiding youth towards positive futures.
