https://lnkd.in/gwpNxthH We're back from Nice with incredible feedback on our implementation of Digital Product Passports for cables!
Founder at PULR Technologies Inc. Transmitting Sustainability with RFID Solutions is what we do. #CIRPASS-2 Expert.
At the NFC Forum Vision NFC Event in Nice on October 8, we demoed the huge potential of Heli™, our implementation of Digital Product Passports (DPP's) on cables. We have shown our Heli™ cable tag with an injection mouldable NFC DPP coil-on-module featuring a TypeV NFC ST25TV from ST Microelectronics. They were inserted during the injection molding process of our Heli's. Details of our implementation and demo video can be found here, in our blog post: https://lnkd.in/ejWzFMY9 Our implementation provides the inspiration for NFC DPP's being added to injection molding process of a variety of products. This requires skills in mold design, adding thermal dissipation, temperature monitoring and automatic dispensing of DPP chips. We did that. PULR Technologies Inc. offers full stack DPP Solutions including our TapDPP mobile app. We have shown Heli's™ compatible with very small 1.2mm cable diameters such as fiber optics jumpers in FTTx networks. We have found that on 3 mm and smaller diameter cables, NFC delivers on DPPs that are much more practical than QR codes. We would like to thank the ST Microelectronics Team for facilitating our demo and generously sponsoring a table. Thanks Jean-Rémi Ruiz, Romain Pardo, & Patrick Sohn. We would also like to acknowledge Mike McCamon, Klaus Roehrle and Vincent Coli, with whom we also have had the opportunity to work hard with on meeting the Vision NFC Event deadline and showing NDPP fully working. It was also great to meet Francis Lamotte, Cyprien Veyrat-Charvillon, Neil Sequeira, Dinesh Kithany, Amir Khoshniyati, Jasmine Shih, Johann Dantant, Kamila Kocia, Thomas L. Roedding and many more with whom we've shared and seen a common vision emerge towards NFC DPP's. An entire industry is gearing up to deliver on the promise of Digital Product Passports powered by NFC Technology, enabling products to cache their DPP content, thus avoiding the obligation to store everything online forever. This alone will also reduce the costs of DPP's and lead to more sustainable DPPs. As a participant in #CIRPASS2 in the Community of Practice and several Expert Working Groups, I look forward to share our experience with our development of Heli™ and furthering the cause of RFID digital product passports. We are now researching how to provide flawless user experience for a product having both a QR code and an NFC chip. For instance, a customer reaching for a tablet that doesn't have NFC support should in principle be able to get to the same information as if using the NFC function on a smartphone, whether the data being read is online or stored as cached NDPP. There are lots of corner cases to work out, before DPPs are unleashed at scale by the delegated acts in 2027-2028 in Europe. We are now sampling Heli™. Our expertise with NFC RFID DPP Carriers can be contributed to many more products beyond cables. Reach out if you think we can help!

Heli for FTTx is now unveiled for 3 mm, 2 mm and 1.2 mm diameter fiber optic patch cables for patch panels and outside plant cabinets. NFC RFID brings about several benefits over self-laminating labels, such as complete record keeping, digital twins, automation of cable intervention procedures, storage of test results, complete records and digital product passports! We have released a video explaining the benefits: https://lnkd.in/emuNMU-i

Now that kick-offs in the various CIRPASS-2 - Digital Product Passport working groups have taken place, we can confirm that we signed an MOU with commitment to contribute into Expert Working Groups 1 to 5 and the Community of Practice. Our area of expertise revolves around RFID Carriers, for both primarily NFC, but also RAIN, which uniquely attach to cables of all sorts with our patent-pending Heli. We contribute our full stack solution including our unique mobile App, TapDPP, and on-premise back-end TapDPP.App, which together enable the digitization of business processes leveraging RFIDs with DPP's. Reach out to learn more!

Since the beginning of 2024, we have been working tirelessly on a solution to the non-trivial compliance deadline of the US FDA’s FSMA Food Traceability requirements which is currently set to January 20, 2026. Our design goal was to develop a scalable solution to what is by any standard a large problem that must be solved by a fast approaching deadline. Food traceability temperature logging requires the secure processing of sensor data generated by millions of temperature measuring & logging #RAINRFID OPUS-based labels, each containing up to 4 thousand temperature entries. This requires embedded software running in hundreds of RAIN RFID readers pumping billions of temperature log entries into secure private clouds. We decided to build it build it from scratch for such massive scalability with requirements typically set by hyperscaler devops engineering teams. Our solution is a highly maintainable single Docker image that can be instantly spun as multiple fault tolerant instances on a private cloud of multiple Kubernetes clusters. It combines our server-side software with our code that runs embedded into fixed and handheld RFID readers to enable our temperature logging #RAINRFID labels to do their magic. Those sensoring labels are at least as impressive as our software. We sell them on a roll, that fits into a printer that programs them. Then when you press on the finger touch button, it activates autonomous logging for up to 6 months thanks to a microprocessor with non-volatile memory and a paper thin battery. Since they are #RAINRFID, even if battery runs out, data can still be retrieved years later and from up to 3 meters away thanks to the long reach antenna built into them. Finally, a built-in visual indicator LED on the labels provide instant visualization feedback on the ongoing logging state and temperature chain violation alarms at the push of the same finger touch button. They are easy to use and require no RFID reader to either start logging or validating that the goods have been delivered without thawing and refreezing, or without being exposed to too high or too low or a temperature. Here are the references to FDA’s FSMA Food Traceability compliance deadline. We look forward to help out all food producers, distributors and retailers meet the compliance deadline with software and hardware immediately available a year early. We can be reached at: info@pulrtechnologies.com https://lnkd.in/em5N5SAR A two hour webinar from the Reagan-Udall foundation for the FDA will be held on October 7th 2024 at 1:30 PM Eastern at the following zoom link: https://lnkd.in/eYxBcMgK

Thanks to NFC Forum for broadcasting the good news of our membership. Over the last few days, at ISE Expo, literally hundreds of people have seen the potential of NFC for cable tagging and been exposed to Digital Product Passports with NFC. We’re happy to be defining the future of IOT meeting OT & ESG with NFC (for cables, there’s lots!). That’s a mouthful simplified in 4 letters: Heli https://lnkd.in/emtXdEQ7

ISE Expo 2024 caters to people who deploy fiber optic networks. Day 1 was exceptionally busy showing how our TapDPP App can serve to digitize Telco MOPs and as the basis for alignment between OT and sustainability initiatives with our Heli CableDPP’s. We explained how DPP’s coming to Europe in 2027 could turn into an opportunity to better document cables and it drew large crowds. We look forward to tomorrow’s visitors at our booth 509. This belittles the day starting on a high note with a featured interview in ISE Insider in this week’s edition: https://lnkd.in/gJukCX-8
