Are you interested in making positive change in the lives of sick children and their families? Consider a rewarding volunteer role as a Board Member with RMHC Newfoundland and Labrador!! At this time, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals to fill available openings on our Board of Directors and committees effective Spring 2024. If you have expertise or experience in Financial Management, Fundraising, Communications, Facility Management, Human Resources, lived experience with RMH programs or experience in serving on a non-profit, community-based board, charitable organization and/or committee this would be an asset. The Board of Directors actively shape the strategic direction of RMHC NL and establish appropriate governance and risk management strategies to ensure promotion of the mission, protection of the assets, and sustainable long-term growth and viability of the charity. Each Board member undertakes organizational tasks individually and as part of a larger group. To complement the role of our Board of Directors, each member will be expected to serve on a least one Board Committee: finance, facilities management, programs, development and communications, governance, or human resources. Family Services Associate (Casual) Operated by a small staff and supported by dedicated volunteers, we now seek the services of a casual Family Services Associate that would be scheduled a minimum of 20 hours per week during a combination of overnights, evenings, and weekends. For a sick child and their family, your kindness means that there is an open door and a hot meal waiting for them after a treatment. It means our shelves are filled with healthy snacks, clean sheets for a bed where they can lay their tired heads, and special activities that provide big smiles and much-needed giggles. It is you who ensures a family can stay together when they have to be far from home for their child’s medical care. Thank you for keeping families with sick children close. A huge thank you to CORE Engineering Inc. for their incredible support of RMHC NL! They donated $5,750 to provide expert electrical design services to enhance the safety of the House. Their work to modify the emergency power system and add life safety egress lighting to the existing back-up generator is helping to ensure families have a safe and secure environment.
