We’ve been proud partners with Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro for many years! Their support through sponsorships, scholarships, and collaboration with our GDEI team has been invaluable. We’re creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce in skilled trades and technology, right here in our province. Thank you, NL Hydro, for helping us empower the next generation!

Need hope for the future? You need not look further than the talented young adults in our midst. These folks have fire inside- it's up to the rest of us to keep that lit so that they can carry us for decades to come. I am very grateful Hydro has such talented people each semester. They produce important work and make us better every semester!

This weekend we make the switch from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. While an hour shift doesn't seem like much, there are some real safety and wellness concerns at this time of year. https://lnkd.in/egiQUS6Q

Congratulations to the organizers, volunteers and participants of this year's Red Shoe Crew Walk for Families on their record-breaking total! Hydro and our employees are proud of our long-standing partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities Newfoundland and Labrador. We’re honoured to have been presenting sponsor of the Walk again this year, knowing the difference every step can make in the lives of families around the province.
$350,200 and climbing!!! Ronald McDonald House Charities Newfoundland and Labrador (RMHC NL) and Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro, the presenting sponsor of the 13th annual Red Shoe Crew-Walk for Families, today announced the total funds raised from the event. Other announcements included the winner of the Grand Prize Draw, Provincial WestJet Cares for Kids Lottery, top communities and top fundraisers. The announcement was made during the Final Step Event held outside Ronald McDonald House in St. John's in the presence of RMHC families, Board Members, staff, Red Shoe Crew Volunteers, Hydro staff, and other sponsors that include NTV News OZFM, Coca-Cola McDonald's Canada Vogue Optical Saputo In The Box Media-Promotions and WestJet Cares for Kids. This year, with the support of 8 sponsors, the event was held in 39 communities, 24 schools, with 230 volunteers, thousands of donors supporting over 1,400 walkers and thousands more on social media, we saw a tremendous display of support as everyone #ShowedTheirStripes and made their steps count for families throughout September. This event continues to be the largest single annual fundraising campaign for Ronald McDonald House Charities Newfoundland and Labrador! We are incredibly excited to announce that the Walk for Families raised $350,200 and climbing!! This represents a 42% increase from last year and the highest recorded results in the history of the event. The funds raised will support the ongoing programs and services at Ronald McDonald House in accommodating hundreds of sick or injured children and their families each year.
